Why CMMN Sense?

Work, dinner, sleep...Work, dinner, sleep...Work, dinner, sleep... I couldn't take it any more. After years of working retail and corporate jobs and making other people money, I quit. I couldn't go on working jobs I hated, living a life unfulfilled. Long thankless hours, missing time with friends and family, hoping to get the requested vacation time. Enough was enough. I knew that there was more to this life, it wasn't making any sense.
I've always wanted to own my own business and express my creativity. To be happy in my career was a goal I've always been searching for, and I see people everyday on social media with their own business, so why not me?
Probably the Pisces in me, I've always loved to create. I've been into lettering, logos, and drawing since childhood. I first noticed streetwear in the late 90's and early 2000's, Karl Kani, Rocawear, Akademiks, Ecko were only a few of the brands I loved along with classic T-Shirts like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. The white T-Shirts with various designs caught my eye immediately, always a new font or graphic choice. They were created to represent the brand but more importantly the design you chose represented you. There are an infinite number of designs someone can create but they can't all be timeless and that is my goal with CMMN Sense.
CMMN Sense represents you with designs that will outlast the current trends. Made with premium materials, CMMN Sense shirts will be your favorite T-Shirts to wear and collect over time with designs that catch your eye and speak to who you are.
Since I was young, the importance of being an educated Black man was something my Dad made sure I was aware of. From making my sister and me do workbooks during summer vacations to having me read the encyclopedia as punishment. Every morning before school he would call from work to say, "Be a leader, don't be a follower". This phrase is something I have subconsciously been living by and will always do. I want to also do my part in supporting Black education and will be donating 3% of the profits every year from CMMN Sense to charities that support Black Education.
In the future I plan on using this space to share more about who I am and to share tips that could be used to improve your life, and others around you in order to create a community that has some CMMN Sense.
